Bob Balans has solidified his position as a hardcore favorite to many with exactly that, hardcore rhymes solidified to beats in a sinister style. Starting in the early nineties as a member of The Formulators with Rob Nat, they released the demo Unkut Verbalistics in 94. After many live radio sessions and featuring on ‘The Essence’ by Raise, Balans first appeared on wax on Distinguished Gentlemen from Trem’s 1998 12” release Sheer Talent. Performing shows on the regular with his crew from the Big Bamboo in 95 to Rod Laver Arena in 2003, he has honed his craft with dedication, dismissed the wak with contempt and evaded the norm. As Lyrical Commission’s track “Press Release” states : Balans is ‘A bloke to check when you’re looking for Dope lyrical ferociousness- I wrote what you’re supposed to get’. In 2001 releasing the E.P. “Inside Bob’s Head” on a small run of 100 to close associates and selling to the most dedicated supporters out the hand, he left heads eager for more with the bugged-out concepts but tight skills shown on tracks such as ‘Shit-Mouth’ and ‘Contamination’. In 2002 contributing his head ripping raps to ‘The Stage Is Set’ he has gained respect from fans and critics locally and globally, however his and L.C’s success story is only set to continue.
