Rob Natrule “A Night On The Tiles”
(Unkut Recordings, 2000) 12”

Rob Nat’s “A Night On The Tiles” was released in 2000. Featuring for the first time in the labels history a full-colour picture sleeve and label, as well as a bonus battle-tool section for DJ’s. Musically, it provided the beer-swilling anthem of the title track, which was sharply contrasted by the sobering tale of “The Conversation”. “Retribution” was an eerie-sample based intro track featuring DJ J-Red, while “Full Potential” provided a more traditional lyrical display over a laid back track.

Trem “Amateurs”
(Unkut Recordings, 1999) 12”

Recorded at the same time as Sheer Talent, once again with the help of Prowla and Jase, “Amateurs” followed in late 1999, and continued to set the pace. “I Can See Clearly” provided an insight into a relationship turned sour, while the anti-wak MC sentiments of the title track were served up in the original Nuff Said recipe as well as the Unkut Mix, which brought a live feel to the song. “Basic Fundamentals” rounded off the set with some hilarious punch lines and an outstanding appearance from L.C co-member, Brad Strut. Due to problems with the pressing plant, only copies were pressed correctly with the vocals on the A-Side and the instrumentals/accapella on the flip, making the official pressings of “Amateurs” as rare as Prowla’s “Money Walks” record.

Tracklist -

Trem “Sheer Talent”
(Unkut Recordings, 1998) 12”

When the labels first release, Trem’s “Sheer Talent” dropped in Jan. 1998, it helped to define the still-developing Melbourne sound in a market that was craving new material. It also unleashed to a broader audience an MC with the wit of a young Lord Finesse combined with a flair for wordplay reminiscent of Nas back when he was Nasty, coupled together with a definite homegrown sound. Backed by the production talents of Jase and Prowla (Nuff Said) who were responsible for the beats behind 7L & Esoteric’s classic “Protocol” the 12” was an underground hit. “Nineteen 92” and “Sheer Talent” were classic brag-rap staples, while “Two Cent Piece” dished the dirt on corrupt cops and transit police. If that wasn’t enough, the fledgling talents of Bob Balans and Rob Nat were showcased on the bonus track, “Distinguished Gentlemen”. Limited to a run of only 350 copies, this vinyl-only treat remains a highly sought after item for those who slept.

Terntable Jediz- All Out War E.P
(Unkut Recordings,2004)

All Out War is the highly anticipated debut E.P from the Australian DJ crew Terntable Jediz. DJ's SHEEP, FINATIK and DAMAGE have brought together some of the finest Australian hip-hop artists and teamed them alongside some of the best producers and emcees from the USA. Terntable Jediz are poised to break the stereotype of “Australian hip-hop” by bringing global appreciation to the Australian hip-hop movement with the release of All Out War. Queensland's DJ Sheep and Perth's 17-year old DJ Finatik are both current consecutive 2-time DMC DJ Competition champions in their respective states. Finatik also placed 2nd in Australia at the 2003 Australian finals. Terntable Jediz lace the album with their trademark scratches and DJ skills. CELPH TITLED (MC, producer, and head-honcho of the US super-group DEMIGODZ) teams up with Melbourne's LYRICAL COMMISSION on the albums title track. Celph both produced the song and drops a venomous 16-bar verse, his talents are complimented by MCs TREM, BRAD STRUT & BOB BALANS, who are without-a-doubt the most respected lyricists in Australia. Their debut effort, The Stage Is Set received praises worldwide and this song will undoubtedly be the hottest track of 2004!

Atlanta hip-hop producer JON DOE (of the group Prophetix) teams up with Delta & Lazy Grey for this album."Foolish" brings a soulful-summery vibe to the table as the 2003 “Australia vs. New Zealand” emcee champion DELTA spits technical turntablist-laced rhymes about the Jediz crew. LAZY GREY's "Electric Chair" will catch listeners off-guard with it?s hard & intoxicating organ stabs while Brisbane's finest emcee attacks the mic. Melbourne producer PROWLA has conjured a lethal beat for New Jersey-based emcee SHAWN LOV. Prowla, no newcomer to overseas collaborations via his work with Tumi, 7L & Esoteric and Karma, is recognized simply as one of the best underground beat creators from Australia.

Unkut Recordings latest recruit, 360, drops the final word on the album over a TREM produced beat. At only 17 years of age he topped #1 on the hip-hop charts at mp3.com.au. He has placed consistently in all premier MC battles and was rated the #1 upcoming artist at the 2003 Oz Hip-Hop Music Awards. “Foul Child” is 360’s debut release, if this is a sign of what we are to expect from this emcee, there is definitely A New Hope for the future….

Lyrical Commission “The Stage Is Set…”
(Unkut Recordings, 2002) L.P.

As the first full length L.P to feature on Unkut, “The Stage Is Set…” released in January 2003, received the highest of accolades for the straight up, back to basics, no nonsense skill-fest it delivers both musically and lyrically. Backed by innovative street level marketing, it exceeded sale predictions nationwide and has gone on to break new ground, attracting significant interest on a worldwide scale. From the very outset of “Prelude”, the take no prisoner’s attitude of L.C is prominent in this forewarning to what lay ahead. A murderous bass-line laced with the here-we-are, this-is-us type vocals of the “Press Release” remix, sees it being a stark contrast from the original yet equally incredible. “Blood Red Skies” is apocalyptic warfare, “Carlton United Tragedy” showcases Brad Strut, delivering for the addicts of heavy drums and the son’s n daughters of broken families, and “Beyond Average” is self-explanatory. “Custom Made” is an ode to the DJ, J-Red, showcasing some of the finest cuts ever pressed to wax. “Walkabout” features U.K MC Li'l Angry Man and “Got A Problem Pt.2” is a reworking of the Bob Balans classic. “Sex Fiend” is rated XXX and on “Hate The Scene” L.C let rip with an unabashed snipe at all not liked within the Australian Hip Hop Scene. Neatly rounded off with some laid back skits, “Liquorice Krills”, “Space Rap” and the ‘buy or die’ sentiments of ‘Chopper’ Read in “Read Between The Lines”.
